Spring brings new life! Dormant plants bud and blossom, grass grows, the sun shines. It motivates us to renew our forgotten New Years resolutions for more exercise, home and yard improvements, and preparations for summer.

Spiritually, Easter should renew our motivation to live like Christ. Be willing to sacrifice of ourselves, increase our life of loving others, renew our hope in the reality of the Resurrection! That's the right response to a dark world of death, disease, despair, discouragement and defeat.

Some recent visitors to my door lamented the finality of death as I mentioned I had a funeral to attend and couldn't talk long. I responded that the life well-lived of a Christian is reason to celebrate and quoted Jesus in John 11:25-"I am the resurrection and the life. He that believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? (to Mary).

This gives us great assurance of salvation now and for the future, as we each trust and obey Christ as our Savior.

A recent visitor couple wrote this and sent it in.  What do you think?  Does it match your experience at Pioneer church?

Hello everyone!  Earlier this month we decided to find a group of believers to fellowship with.  Our first stop was Dayton Pioneer Evangelical Church.  It is a short distance from our home and has a great history in the community.
Immediately we felt the presence of God expressed through the love and joy of the people.  We visited again the next week, and decided to make it our "home away from home".  The blend of worship in the music ministry is wonderful for all ages.  And Pastor Steve shares the Word of God with great insight and practical application.
If you are not part of a congregation who loves the Lord and each other, we encourage you to find one.  We recommend Dayton Evangelical church for a visit or a long term stay.
    Sincerely, Mark & Tami

    WHAT ARE YOUR GIFTS?

We find some of our natural abilities and gifts as we go through life, but often don't live up to our highest potential as people. You may not realize that God also gives us "spiritual" gifts, abilities and natural tendencies to use to bless and help the Body-the church. Read Ephesians 4:11-13 and Romans 12:6-8. We all need help from each other to find and fulfill our potential in both the natural and the spiritual parts of life. And we will find that it's not as frightening as we might think to serve as Christ's hands and feet in this world. It's really very exciting!
So join me in the Mosaic Youth-Adult Sunday School class in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 in the coming weeks as we explore our abilities and God's gifts. On the 22nd we will have Questions and Answers with the Warrens, missionaries to Japan.
Remember there are other classes for the children, so bring the whole family and your favorite morning drink or our coffee as we explore the Bible!
